I will dominate 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.
British boxer Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to publicize next month's boxing match.
Ex twice world title holder Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I intend to really want to hurt him. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
In spite of these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Still, the novice remains one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial earnings.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for 2026.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional stare-down, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly happening.
